What do you want to do with your life? We were all asked this question from the time we were able to speak. As we grew older, we began to answer the question, but our answers never seemed to feel definitive. Times flies by…and cue the mid-life crisis.

Now, in the days of Generation Y and a society full of entrepreneurs, it seems the “mid-life” crisis has come earlier for most - the days of the mid-twenties crisis has arrived. Everybody is trying to come up with the next big idea. Generation Y is determined more than ever to be happy and to not become a slave to our own lives.

But, how do you go about it? We all hear that time goes by fast; unfortunately, it is not only when you have fun. If you hate what you’re doing in your life, sorry, but time will still breeze by.

That only means one thing: now is the absolute best and essential time to take charge of your life. Yes, I did call it a mid-twenties crisis, but this goes to people of all ages now. Do not be afraid of chasing your passions. Do not be afraid of what’s out there in the world. Pop that bubble that you’re in and realize that life does not have to be what society has set it out to be. You can literally succeed in anything nowadays. You can make a living chasing after your dreams. You don’t have to conform to what the world has shaped your life to be. It’s time for you to shape your own reality.

For those of you who have not discovered what your passions are, you are not alone. Chances are, those around you have not either. You may not know what your passion in life is, so that’s why you have to get out into the world and discover it! Take a chance! Be bold! The most important step is the first step.

For example, have you always wanted to do that extra charity work but just “never found the time?” Then sit yourself down and find a charity that really speaks to you and contact them. Or you love cooking and had thought about becoming a chef but got scared after hearing it’s a rough road - well then it’s time to enroll in some night classes to learn if you truly love it.

We are all so lazy to take that initial step. But if you think about it, it really only takes a short amount of time to find out extra information to discover anything further. If you’re going to spend several hours a night watching TV and going online, why not make your nights productive? It’ll only benefit you in the end. No discovery is ever a waste of time!!

For those of you who already know what your passions are but don’t know how to go about making a living out of it - research, research, research! You won’t get to anywhere in life without hard work, patience, and research. By putting in that extra effort in learning more about your passion, I guarantee each and every one of you that your creative juices will start bubbling and you will find a way to turn your passion into your LIFE. If you need some help starting, feel free to contact me at rockong.ventures@gmail.com for some advice or just to have a conversation to discover who you are.

You will never, and I mean never, discover who you are until you’ve stepped outside of your comfort zone and go on a mission of self-discovery. You only live once. Yes, you can live a content life. But why do that to yourself? Life is beautiful and full of potential. Maximize your abilities and your life greater than you have ever imagined.

You will succeed. We will all succeed.
