Usually when we finally take a step towards participating in community service, we go directly into our neighborhoods. “What can I do to impact the immediate area around me?” is the question we ask. But what happens when a small group of individuals in Closter, NJ had bigger dreams? They’re reaching their goals…on a global scale.
The Supply Education Group’s main purpose is to provide school supplies and educational resources to developing nations. They physically travel to developing countries to form a bond with the school, its teachers, and students. They have traveled to Costa Rica, Tanzania, and Kenya thus far. As you’re reading this, I hope you are gaining inspiration as to the power that we all have, if we just simply got up and did something.
The craziest part? This group only started six months ago! One word can only describe how much this group has accomplished within that short time frame: amazing.
If you would like to learn more, volunteer, donate, or partner up with this organization, visit their website at www.thesupply.org. Although they’ve been running for about six months now, their official launch party will be this coming Friday, August 27th at:
Art in General Gallery
